About the Camp
The Company of Fifers and Drummers Junior Fife and Drum Camp is offered each year to ensure that the quality and scope of fifing and drumming continues to improve, expand, and prosper. This is accomplished through the use of instructional workshops, which provide junior drum corps members with the tools needed to increase their knowledge in various aspects of fifing and drumming. All workshops are conducted in a friendly, open, and professional manner to provide a positive experience for all.

2012 Camp Theme
In the past few years we have attempted to familiarize the Campers with the music & concepts of Corps that influenced the music & styles we now play. It has been a bit of musically history and hopefully has given the Campers knowledge of where their roots are when it comes to fife & drum.

This year we will explore the music of the award winning Connecticut Yanks. It is also our pleasure to have a number of the players from that corps on our staff. The stories, as well as musical talent that accompanies said stories, will be invaluable to our young musicians. We can only hope to inspire them to make their own fife & drum history.

To quote their record jacket, “The Yanks sound is one of variety and complexity bringing a unique sophistication to the world of ancient fife and drum.”……..The Yanks made “strides for ever higher plateau of excellence motivated by one word, PRIDE.”

PRIDE, a word that rings true with The Company of Fifers & Drummers Junior Camp! “Ladies and Gentlemen, the Yanks are coming!”
